screaming factor

Screaming Factor was formed in the city of Malang in March 1997 by Yoyok that really wanted to have an old-school hardcore or hardcore-punk band. Yoyok then invited his schoolmate, Evi, to be a vocalist in this band. Several close friends were also recruited to complete the first SF formation as follows; Evi [vocals], Harry [vocals], Yoyok [guitar], Andre [bass], and Lucky [drums]. Earlier in their career, Screaming Factor often covered foreign songs by Sick Of It All, 25 Ta Life, or Vision of Disorder. Around December 1997, Lucky walked out of the band and the position was soon replaced by Oyik. Meanwhile to fill the vacancy in the guitar sector, Yoyok finally took Udin to enter into their formation. In mid-1998, Harry decided to leave the band because he wanted to focus on his work. Evi [vocals], Yoyok [guitar], Udin [guitar], Andre [bass], and Oyik [drums] started performing in various stages and local gigs such as Parade Music Crisis, Malang In Your Face, After Shock – where they share the stage with Today Is Struggle, Direction For Use, MBDPH, Youth of Strength, Stolen Vision, Keramat, Wodka, No Play No Games, Skatoopid, Dying, and a number of other bands. In 1999, Screaming Factor documented their first single entitled We Born In Pain. The song was recorded in studio Kangean [Malang] . The single was also included in the compilation album For The Truth which was released by the Youth Frontline Records [Malang] in April 1999. According to reports from the label, the compilation has been sold 500-600 cassette copies throughout Indonesia. At the end of August 1999, Andre [bass] decided to leave the band to concentrate on his new routine, which was rehearsal studio attendant. Screaming Factor finally opened auditions to find a new bass player, and was forced to cancel their show at the event Bludreg Solo. After being idle for some time, Screaming Factor went on stage again with the entry of Adon as bass player, replacing Andre. Member changes in Screaming Factor did not stop there. Oyik [drums] suddenly resigned in February 2000. His position was then replaced by Tomy for some time. Together Tomy, Screaming Factor had appeared in several events, such as the Battle of Hardcore in Surabaya and Under Siege # 1 in Blitar. The other members felt that Tomy didn't have enough competence, the position was then handed over to Ayok. In the formation Evi [vocals], Yoyok [guitar], Udin [drums], Adon [bass], and Ayok [drums], Screaming Factor was back at work. In early 2000, they recorded the single, Wake Up. The single is included into the compilation We Born With Pain, released by Never End Records [Jakarta]. Because Screaming Factor had already been known as a female-fronted band with Evi as female vocalist. After taking a breather for several months, in early January 2003 Screaming Factor officially gave vocalist slot to Novi. Previously Novi often helped Screaming Factor as back-up vocals.
